I should point out that my chessworld.net rating is 2133, and since I will likely never play again on that site I will use that forever as my claim to fame.
That's funny about chessworld.net, I feel the same way about redhotpawn! But I'm sure its just because I don't know what all the features are. I mainly like chessworld because of the tournaments and leageus.
If you want to play again (beat me again) and challenge me at redhot let me know, because I don't normally log on to that site.
Thanks for the games!
Will do Josh. I just really find chessworld to be a totally disorganized website. Just personal preference I'm sure.
Thanks for the games. I've never been rated 2133 before!
And if you played me again there you'd probably be higher!
So what is your rating?:)
It starts to look like the boxingworld where you have 17 federations with each their own rankings and champions.:)
I'd say my rating is right around 1600 strength. My FICS blitz rating is lower, and I've always struggled with blitz games (although I enjoy them). My CTS rating is lower and IMHO shows that tactics is the weakest part of my game.
The USCF rating is probably the least accurate, because Ive played about 1 rated tournament every 3 years since 1990.
FICS blitz ratings seem to be the best predictor of USCF ratings that you can get in an online server. (i.e., they're not only close in numbers, they're also tough compared to the rating systems of other online sites.)
The few anomolies I've seen come from 1) playing the same USCF opponents so much that you suffer a rating inflation, and 2) living in one of those geographic pockets with odd USCF rating adjustments, such as large cities (usually inflated) or scholastic regions (always deflated).
Thanks for the response BDS. I really hate to count my Blitz rating as the most accurate because I know that I'm terrible at blitz.
I have a friend who plays both blitz and correspondence with me. He wins about 50% of our blitz games but has never beaten my at correspondence.
